Abstract:

Magnetic nanoparticles based on iron oxides will be prepared. First, the samples will be characterized by X-ray powder diffraction in order to determine the purity of phases. Nitrogen adsorption-desorption method will be used in order to determine the texture of the materials. The morphology of the samples will be studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). By Mossbauer spectroscopy the phase relations and the magnetic properties will be evaluated. Based on the results obtained by characterization the materials will be recommended for different types of application.

Objectives: In the two research groups will be realised: matherials synthesis, SEM, Moessbauer spectroscopy, XRD measurements on the iron oxide-silica nanocomposites, measurements results interpretation, discussion, and drafting publication.
